Voter Registration Information

To vote in Ohio, you must be: •a United States citizen •at least 18 years old on the day of election at which you wish to vote* •a resident of Ohio for 30 days before a General, Primary of Special Election * – (Exception: At a Primary Election you may vote for candidates, but not on issues, if you will be 18 years by the General Election) New residents must register to vote 30 days prior to the date of the election at which you wish to vote. Citizens who have not voted at least one time within the last four years must register again. The City of Bellevue is located within three Ohio counties: Huron, Sandusky and Erie. Bellevue residents residing in any of these counties may register to vote by mail, by calling the Secretary of State’s office, at the Bellevue Public Library, with a Deputy Registrar or with the respective County Board of Elections.

Bellevue residents living in Sandusky County: •Precincts 1 and 2 vote at Seyberts United Methodist Church, 442 West Main Street

Bellevue residents living in Huron County: Precinct 3 and Precinct 4 votes at the Bellevue Library, 224 Main Street.

If you move within the county in which you currently reside, address changes can be made at any location in which voter registration is accepted. Also, voters can change their addresses online by clicking HERE Voters will have prior notification by mail of voting location from the County Boards of Elections. Poll hours are 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Absentee Voting – Absentee ballots are available by calling the appropriate County Board of Elections Office.

Ward 1 All of the corporation territory of the City in Sandusky County which lies north of the railway right of way extending from the west corporation line of the City to the centerline of Southwest Street, and also the area lying south of the railway right of way and more particularly described as follows: and being bounded on the north by the railway right of way, bounded on the west by the centerline of Lawrence Street, bounded on the south by the centerline of Gardner Street and bounded on the east by the centerline of Woodward Street.

Ward 3 All of the area within the City in Huron County lying south of East Main Street and also the area lying north of East Main Street which is bounded by a line described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of East Main Street and Northwest Street; thence east along the centerline of East Main Street to its intersection with the southerly prolongation of the rear line of lots fronting on the east side of Northwest Street; thence northerly along such prolongation and along the rear lines of lots fronting on the east side of Northwest Street and on the east side of Castalia Street to its intersection with the rear line of lots fronting on the north side of Sherman Street; thence easterly along the rear line of the lots fronting on the north side of Sherman Street to the center line of North Buckeye Street; thence southerly along such centerline of North Buckeye Street; to the center line of Sherman Street; thence easterly along the easterly prolongation of the centerline of Sherman Street to its intersection with the most south easterly right-of-way line of railway property thence northeasterly along such railway right-of-way line to its intersection with the rear line of lots fronting on the east side of Wood Street; thence southerly along such rear line of the lots fronting on the east side of Wood Street to the center line of East Main Street; thence westerly along the center line of East Main Street to the place of beginning.
