Wednesday, April 8, 2015, Sergeant Tyi McCarley and his K9 partner, Lasso, performed a traffic stop on SR 113 on the east side of the city. Lasso was deployed and indicated the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were searched and the 36-year-old female driver, Megan Padala of Cleveland, Ohio, was found to be in possession of a large amount of heroin. The 30-year-old male passenger, Samuel Titchenell of Lakewood, Ohio, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Also in the vehicle was Padal’s 7-year-old son.
Padala and Titchenell were charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Heroin and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additional charges are pending for them. They were taken to the Huron County Jail.
This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest heroin case/arrest in the history of the Bellevue Police Department. We would like to thank the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case. An estimated $10,000 worth of heroin was seized and will no longer be available to put on the streets in this area.
